Coach Ryan Day announced the university's plan to honor Haskins at the Buckeyes' spring game following his death. The 24-year-old not only brought “compassion and excellence” to Ohio State, but he was also a standout player on the field.
The former Steelers and Commanders' signal-caller threw for 4,831 yards with a whopping 50 touchdown passes and eight interceptions during his sophomore season with the Buckeyes.
As Day said, Haskins entered the Buckeyes' facility at a young age, expressing a desire to one day play at the university, a lofty goal which he achieved.
Haskins set a goal and accomplished it, wowing the college football world in the process during his time at Ohio State. It's a legacy that will get the recognition it deserves.
