The Milwaukee Bucks didn’t make too many offseason changes from the roster which made a significant jump last season. The Bucks added nine wins from the season before to go 42-40, and gave the Toronto Raptors a tough fight in the first round before eventually succumbing in six games.

Backup center could’ve been an issue they needed to address had Greg Monroe opted out of his contract. But Monroe stuck around for one more year, and as he told Matt Velazquez of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the veteran big man feels that it was only right for the team to have a relatively quiet summer.

“There was never any reason to make a change,” said Monroe, who in June opted into the final year of his contract. “We feel like we had a good season, something we can build on and we want to continue to make the right strides. … I feel like we’ve been together a lot this summer, especially toward the second half of the summer, already getting back into the rhythm and trying to get ready for the season.”

The Bucks were reported close to landing Kyrie Irving, who would've made quite a dynamic duo with Giannis Antetokounmpo.

But even though Milwaukee missed out on that star, they still have a strong team and a promising young core around the “Greek Freak” with Jabari Parker, Khris Middleton, Tony Snell, Malcolm Brogdon, and Thon Maker, a group which could still improve into one of the beasts in the East if the Bucks allow them to grow together.
