Beyond his on-court impact, Milwaukee Bucks center Lopez is an outspoken imbiber of pop culture. And as he was recently asked about the redesign of Sonic the Hedgehog in the upcoming film — which was pushed back to 2020 due to backlash regarding the design of the beloved video game icon — Lopez can't help but express his dismay.

“Oh, I was offended, I just don’t understand why they tried to change it, why wouldn’t they just make him look like sonic?” Lopez said, per Kane Pitman of Pick and Roll.

Clearly, Brook has strong opinions on the film as well as the character, which is understandable. Sonic is one of the most recognizable video game characters of all time, right up there with Mario, Pikachu and Master Chief.

When Lopez isn’t pondering drilling long-range triples at an impressive rate for a massive seven-footer, he is obviously pondering the ins and outs of the Blue Blur’s design.

Because of Lopez’s newfound range, he too has been provided with a new nickname akin to the Blue Blur: Splash Mountain!

Lopez is entering his free agency, and while there are questions if the Bucks will re-sign him, he publicly expressed his desire to stay in Milwaukee. Here's to hoping that he's still with the Bucks when the Sonic movie is released!
