The San Antonio Spurs handed the Milwaukee Bucks only their 17th loss of the season on Sunday, as coach Gregg Popovich and his men emerged victorious against the league leaders, 121-114.
However, one of the highlights of the evening was when a bat flew across the court to interrupt the highly entertaining contest. Chaos ensued, and after the game, Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo admitted that he was a bit freaked out by the incident:
“Oh yeah, definitely,” Giannis Antetokounmpo said when asked if he was scared of the bat, via JR Radcliffe of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “I think this is the first time I've seen a bat up close. I'm scared of all the insects. I don't like roaches, I don't like ants, and if I don't like that, I don't like a bat.”
As it turns out, Antetokounmpo is human after all, as like many of us, he too is afraid of flying rodents.
The incident, however, did little to distract a determined Giannis, as he was still able to put up 27 points (on 10-of-18 shooting), 13 rebounds, six assists, and a block. It was in a losing effort, though, as Milwaukee had no answer to the hot-handed duo of DeMar DeRozan (28 points, four rebounds, six assists) and LaMarcus Aldridge (29 points, 15 rebounds, two steals, two blocks).
This is not the first time the Spurs have had an infamous incident involving a bat, as San Antonio legend Manu Ginobili once took out a bat with his bare hands during a game. How we wish Manu was in attendance on Sunday.
