Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo had a relatively odd experience going up against a depleted Golden State Warriors lineup, one that had only Draymond Green as the last vestige of the juggernaut it has been for the past five seasons.

The Bucks had to work to pull off a 107-98 win in what had been a defensive war in the first half, but even that didn't make it less “weird” for the reigning MVP:

“It's weird,” said Antetokounmpo, according to ESPN's Eric Woodyard. “I've never seen this. I've been in the league for seven years now, I've never seen a team go from being in the NBA Finals and now being not as good, but at the end of the day, once they come back they're going to be right back up there,” Antetokounmpo said. “It's crazy. The up and down is going to be crazy but I talked to Steph, Klay wasn't out there, but I wish him a fast recovery and he's going to be back and he's going to be helping his team win and doing what he did last year and the previous years.”

The Warriors have suffered one of the most dramatic drops in league history, going from finalist to one of the worst teams in the NBA.

While Giannis Antetokounmpo and company had to chip away to secure a win, the lack of an elite perimeter threat became all the more evident in the closing stages of the game, when it was Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson III firing up prayers instead of the backcourt of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

The Greek Freak knows the aforementioned duo will eventually be back, making this a momentary illusion for the league, one that can soon turn into a stark difference by next season as the Warriors try to get back to the top.
