Reigning league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks is pretty much the closest thing we have right now to a perfect basketball player. While there are still some aspects of his game that he needs to work on (ie, his shooting), his recent triumph as the NBA's Most Valuable Player speaks volumes of how he is currently one of, if not the best player in the league.

Nevertheless, despite how seemingly faultless he may be on the basketball court, the 24-year-old did admit to a personal flaw that he possess — a growing addiction to basketball shoes.

“I got a shoe closet. It's a big room. In there is probably around 300, 400. But I got a large storage unit that I have in my house, and I have a lot of shoes in Greece also,” Giannis explained, via Alexander Cole of hnhh.

Here is the full clip of Antetokounmpo speaking to ESPN's Rachel Nichols about his massive shoe collection.

Nichols does well to put this shocking bit of information into perspective. Growing up in Greece, Giannis and his brothers did not exactly live a lavish life. As the ESPN anchor noted in the interview, Antetokounmpo and his siblings would have to resort to sharing a single pair of basketball shoes that they would use among themselves for their respective games.

Now that he has reached the highest of heights in the NBA, it would be unfair for us to judge Giannis on his extravagant shoe collection. Not only is this something he earned with his hard work and perseverance, but maybe this is also one of his ways of making up for a childhood of poverty. It's not as if he's done a crime here, so haters: back off.
