The Milwaukee Bucks made a statement on Thursday night by hammering the Golden State Warriors, 118-99. The score does not even come close to indicate how one-sided the game was. At halftime, the Bucks led the Warriors 77-38. The 39-point difference is the largest halftime deficit Golden State has faced since the franchise moved to California back for the 1962-1963 season.

In the win, Giannis Antetokounmpo posted another triple-double. He finished the game with 30 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists. What's particularly impressive is that his specific stat line was historic. He became the first player over the last 40 years to post multiple 30-point triple-doubles with less than 30 minutes played that game in a single season.

He was extremely efficient as well, shooting 11 for 17 from the floor. His presence was felt on the defensive end as well as he recorded three blocks.

The statement win by the Bucks came one night after the Brooklyn Nets got a statement win of their own. On Wednesday, the Nets hammered the Eastern Conference leaders, the Chicago Bulls.

That goes to show that you can toss records out the window. The Nets, while at full strength, and the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks, are still the class of the East.

After the game, Giannis had some fun with reporters. When asked about Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer's recent absence, Antetokounmpo replied jokingly “I enjoyed it.” He followed that up with “He's going to be mad.”

The flip side of the coin is the Warriors. Their slide continues as they have now lost four of their last five games.
