What does reigning NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo think of the player movement and stars finding new teams in the offseason?

“It's insane,” the 24-year-old told ESPN in an interview with Ohm Youngmisuk published Sunday.

The Greak Freak led the Milwaukee Bucks to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2019, only to fall to Kawhi Leonard and the eventual champion Toronto Raptors in six games.

Antetokounmpo and the Bucks started the series up 2-0 before squandering the lead and losing the next four to Toronto.

The Bucks were involved in quite a few offseason changes in spite of their success last season. They lost former Rookie of the Year Malcolm Brogdon, a restricted free agent, in a sign-and-trade with the Indiana Pacers. The Bucks, however, re-signed key contributors in forward Khris Middleton and center Brook Lopez, and they brought in Brook's twin brother Robin and veteran swingman Wesley Matthews to complement Antetokounmpo's dominance.

While Giannis hammered home how “insane” all this player movement is, he feels it's good for the NBA in multiple ways.

“It's insane, obviously, but it evens up the balance in the NBA,” Antetokounmpo said of watching stars such as Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving, Paul George and Russell Westbrook change teams. “You can see a lot of stars all over the place. Clippers, Lakers, Brooklyn, Sixers, Boston … it's good.”

“It's insane,” Antetokounmpo added of all the changes around the NBA. “Like people ask for a trade and a trade happens. Players ask for a trade, ‘I want to get traded there,' and players go there. It's insane. A lot of star players have a lot of power right now. This is the league we live in. I think it's good to control your own destiny and your own career.”

Antetokounmpo has never shown any inkling of leaving Milwaukee, but if things don't go right for them in the next few years, perhaps he'll jump on the train of star players switching teams.
