Giannis Antetokounmpo has spent his entire career with the Milwaukee Bucks and finally brought an NBA title back to the city for the first time in 50 years in 2021.

However, in a recent interview with GQ, the Bucks star got very honest on his future, making it clear that he's always looking for a new challenge. Via NBC Sports:

One challenge was to bring a championship here and we did,” he said. “It was very hard, but we did. Very, very hard. I just love challenges. What’s the next challenge? The next challenge might not be here.” It’s not that he doesn’t love Milwaukee, he said. But he was always wary of things becoming too easy. “Me and my family chose to stay in this city that we all love and has taken care of us—for now,” Giannis said. “In two years, that might change. I’m being totally honest with you. I’m always honest. I love this city. I love this community. I want to help as much as possible.”

It's hard to imagine the Bucks without Giannis, who is the cornerstone of this organization and one of the greatest players in the league. His agent, Alex Sarastis, offered some clarity to GQ on the Greek Freak's comments and didn't exactly hint that his client is intending on leaving:

“I don’t think it’s, ‘I’m thinking about leaving the Bucks,’ ” [Alex] Saratsis said “But I think he’s genuinely like: ‘Okay, I have reached the pinnacle. The next challenge is, let’s repeat.’ But what happens if you do repeat? What’s the next challenge? What is that next barrier? When you think about it from a basketball perspective, by the age of 26, this kid has accomplished everything,” Saratsis said. “So sometimes you’re going to have to manufacture what those challenges are.”

The Bucks will definitely be looking to repeat this season, but that's a very tough thing to do, especially given their poor 6-8 start to the season. If they fall short of that goal, there is always the possibility of Giannis Antetokounmpo jolting for greener pastures and you can't blame him.

Look at LeBron James. He's moved around numerous times in search of championship glory. While Giannis did take the harder road by sticking with the Bucks through thick and thin, Milwaukee fans have to be prepared that he could eventually leave. It's just reality.
