Giannis Antetokounmpo scoffed at any potential storylines stemming from his collision with Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart, saying it was merely two players leaving it all out on the court. The Milwaukee Bucks star collided with Smart in the winding minutes of the fourth quarter, as his team trailed by 10.

“Two guys that play hard and we both ended up on the floor,” Antetokounmpo said of the play, according to Boston.com.

However Smart saw it differently, encouraged that he'd gotten the upper edge on the taller Antetokounmpo.

“Every time I’m boxing him out, he’s trying to throw me out the way,” said Smart, who is giving up roughly seven inches in comparison, according to Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe. “It lets me know he’s frustrated I’m getting to him.”

Smart and Antetokounmpo approach things very differently, as are their roles with their respective teams. Giannis is a do-it-all talisman for his team while Smart's main mission is to make stars like Giannis shine a lot less brighter than they normally would.

Mission accomplished.

Antetokounmpo posted a strong double-double of 22 points and 15 rebounds, but was forced to depend on his teammates in the last period, allowing the Celtics to come ahead, outscoring the Bucks 36-29 in the fourth quarter.

Smart didn't have a bad night himself, scoring 19 points in a spot start while dishing out six assists and burying five 3-pointers for the Celtics, as they came away with a 116-105 win to improve to 3-1 on the season.
