Fresh from winning MVP honors at the 2021 NBA All-Star Game, Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo continued to play well on Thursday, helping the Bucks rout the New York Knicks, 134-101.

But while the Bucks came out sharp out of the All-Star break, Antetokounmpo’s math skills did not, based on his answer to a reporter’s question following their victory over the Knicks.

The reigning MVP and Defensive Player of the Year for the Bucks was asked if Bryn Forbes, who scored 21 points off the bench and shot a perfect 7-of-7 from beyond the arc for the night, is the best shooter he’s played with.

The Greek Freak had a ready answer but perhaps was too quick to crown himself as a better shooter than his Bucks teammate.

Antetokounmpo playfully answered by saying that he is a better shooter on the Bucks than Forbes, as he shot 1-for-1 from downtown against New York, but the reporter pointed out that even though both percentages were perfect, 7-for-7 is still better than 1-for-1.

The 26-year-old, however, replied that he also shot 1-for-1 from three-point distance in their last game before the All-Star break against the Memphis Grizzlies and 3-for-3 from outside during the All-Star Game, which gives him 5-for-5 shooting in his last three games. The five-time All-Star for the Bucks then admitted that he was only joking and commended Forbes’ shooting.

Antetokounmpo led the Bucks against the Knicks, finishing with a triple-double of 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists while making eight of 12 shots. Equally impressive is his impeccable shooting from the All-Star Game earlier this week, when he made all 16 of his shots from the field and finished with a game-high 35 points.

Even though Forbes’ outside shooting is better than Antetokounmpo’s, maybe he did have a point when he crowned himself as the best shooter he’s played with on the Bucks.
