The Milwaukee Bucks Title Defense Tour is off to a rousing start after they notched a statement win over the Brooklyn Nets, 127-104 in front of home fans at Fiserv Forum.

It was truly a magical evening for the Bucks as they also received their NBA championship rings before the game. It was the crowning achievement of Giannis Antetokounmpo and his teammates. Quite expectedly, Giannis got pretty emotional, as he finally completed his mission for the Bucks.

After their win over Kevin Durant and company, The Greek Freak explained why he was in tears during the memorable ceremony for the Bucks (via ESPN).

“When they were playing those videos, you cannot help yourself but get emotional. Looking back to the journey, where we started from and where we are right now.”

Giannis joined the Bucks as an unknown lanky kid from Greece in 2013. He was rumored to leave the Bucks numerous times, but he stuck with the squad, making his first NBA title even more satisfying.

But now that they've gotten their bling, the reigning Finals MVP said they're now focusing on defending the crown.

“We're part of history. I'm excited. But now it's over with. We've got to focus on building good habits, keep moving forward and keep playing good basketball, and hopefully, we can repeat this again this year, next year, and all the years that we're going to be here down the road.”

The Bucks can go for a second straight win on Thursday against another Eastern Conference contender in the Miami Heat.
