Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has been officially listed as doubtful for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Atlanta Hawks.

According to the Bucks' official announcement, an MRI on Antetokounmpo's injury confirmed their initial diagnosis of left knee hyperextension. However, it  is worth noting that an earlier report from Adrian Wojnarowski  of ESPN cited that Milwaukee avoided the worst-case scenario as the Greek Freak did not sustain any structural damage and his “ligaments are sound.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo sustained the injury midway through the third quarter of Game 4 against the Hawks. After his failed attempt to stop a Clint Capela dunk off a lob, he landed awkwardly with his knee bulking up backwards upon landing. The two-time MVP went down and grimaced in pain, staying on the floor for a few minutes before he was helped off by his brother Thanasis Antetokounmpo onto the locker room.

The 26-year-old Giannis tried to get back to the game (or maybe just show his presence to his Bucks teammates after the scary injury) by going back to the bench later on. Unfortunately, he was eventually ruled out for the rest of the contest.

It is unlikely Giannis suits up for Game 5 considering the extent of his injury. In fact, his status for the remainder of the series remains in doubt. With that said, Mike Budenholzer and Milwaukee might have to prepare as if their best player is not returning any time soon.
