Superstar swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo says the Milwaukee Bucks have “done a great job responding all year” after poor first halves.

The Bucks had the best record in the NBA during the regular season. There weren't too many times when Milwaukee played poor in the first half. However, the times that they did, Antetokounmpo says the guys came out in the second half more focused than ever.

Wednesday in Game 2 against the Detroit Pistons, the Bucks trailed the Pistons by one heading into halftime. They weren't playing well and had a lack of energy. The second half was completely different, as Milwaukee outscored Detroit 62-40 and won by a final score of 120-99 to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

“I think we’ve done a great job responding all year and I think he [coach Mike Budenholzer] trusts us,” Antetokounmpo said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “He knows we know when we’re messing up. We know when we’re not putting enough effort. So he just comes in, he looks at our faces, we’re all pissed off and mad and he’s like, ‘OK. You guys go out there and do your job.’ And that’s what we try to do.”

Antetokounmpo has been arguably the league's best player in the early going of the playoffs, averaging 25.0 points, 14.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in just 26.5 minutes per game, shooting 57.1 percent from the field. He and the Bucks will look to take a 3-0 series lead on Saturday at Little Caesar's Arena in Detroit.

Absent an injured Blake Griffin, the Pistons are just outmatched in this series.
