The Milwaukee Bucks scored a key victory on Friday against the Houston Rockets, 141-133, which allowed them to move up to the second spot in the Eastern Conference, overtaking the mighty Brooklyn Nets.

As it turns out, Giannis Antetokounmpo was not aware of his team's current standing. When he was told about this recent development in his post-game interview, the reigning back-to-back MVP had a bit of a mixed reaction (h/t Bucks on Twitter):

Giannis looked genuinely surprised (and delighted) upon learning about Milwaukee's current standing. Then again, he did admit that he really didn't care about their positioning:

“Hell no,” Giannis said emphatically. “I don't care about second, like it does not matter. It does not matter. All that matters right now is building good habits.”

Milwaukee won their fifth straight game on Friday against the Rockets, which allowed them to overtake Kevin Durant and the Nets in the standings. Brooklyn is on a four-game losing skid, but they currently still have an identical record with the Bucks at 43-24.

It is worth noting that the top spot is still within striking distance for Milwaukee. They still have five games remaining in the regular season and are just three games behind the top-seeded Philadelphia 76ers.

Based on his reaction though, it does not look like Giannis is paying too much attention to the standings. It's just all about winning every game for him, as the Bucks prepare for what is expected to be a playoff run with major implications for the franchise moving forward.
