Does the NBA 2k curse exist or not? The Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo doesn't believe a single part of it.
After being chosen as the video game's cover athlete, not long after, the player suddenly leaves for another team. This is what the NBA 2k curse is all about.
Below are some of the previous covers of NBA 2k. All of the players, as most of you know, are wearing a different jersey now. James, seen wearing a Heat jersey, returned to Cleveland not long after. And now, he's with the Los Angeles Lakers after being featured yet again just recently as a special edition cover athlete.
Durant made an unprecedented move to the Golden State Warriors. Paul George went to the Oklahoma City Thunder — and stayed. Kyrie Irving is now with the Boston Celtics.

The next question, where will Antetokounmpo — NBA 2k19's cover athlete go? The Greek Freak himself dismissed the curse, saying that he'll be a member of the Bucks for life:

In reality, however, this is not something he has control over. It's easy to deny certain harsh realities we haven't experienced face to face.
Toronto Raptors fans believed that they would see their star DeMar DeRozan — cover athlete for the Canada edition last year — don the Raptors jersey for life. Yet recently, he was sent to the San Antonio Spurs via trade.
One can never really predict what will happen next, especially in the NBA. There are, however, certain facts that are etched in stone, such as Antetokounmpo on the cover of NBA 2k19. Whether or not he'll be a member of the Bucks his entire career remains a mystery.
