At this point, Giannis Antetokounmpo can say anything he wants and it should be illegal to contradict him.

Giannis finally fulfilled his mission to win an NBA title for the Milwaukee Bucks after they won four straight games over the Phoenix Suns.

Not a few raised their eyebrows before the season after The Greek Freak was given a five-year contract extension worth a whopping $228 million. Other teams jockeyed for the services of Giannis but he eventually chose to stay with the Bucks.

After their Game 6 win on Tuesday, Giannis explained his decision and not-so-subtly threw shade at other superstars who team up in hopes of winning an NBA title (via Reddit).

Loyalty is Everything 🤝 from nba

Indeed, the 26-year-old Giannis had to go through numerous tribulations before reaching the NBA pedestal. He endured all those awful Bucks years, all the criticisms on his game, all the hate about winning back-to-back MVPs, and of course, all the painful defeats in the NBA Playoffs.

More NBA superstars have banded together in recent years, including LeBron James and Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden of the Brooklyn Nets, and Kawhi Leonard and Paul George of the Los Angeles Clippers. But Giannis stayed the course, organically developing his partnership with fellow All-Star Khris Middleton.

Giannis' loyalty obviously has been rewarded with his first NBA championship, joining Michael Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon as the only players in league history to win MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and Finals MVP.

It wasn't an easy journey at all for Giannis Antetokounmpo. But that's exactly what makes everything taste even sweeter.
