The 2021-22 NBA season is less than a month away but Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo is not yet fully healthy.

In his recent interview with COSMOTE TV, the Bucks forward opened up about the hyperextended left knee injury he suffered during Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The issue kept Giannis out for Games  and 6 of the series as Milwaukee closed it out against the Atlanta Hawks, but he was able to return in time for the NBA Finals against the Phoenix Suns.

While he pointed out that his ability to quickly heal and play in the Finals “wasn't a miracle” but a result of the way he worked hard and took care of his body, he admitted he was playing in pain at the time and he's still enduring some issues until today.

“I shouldn't have played in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. I was in a lot of pain. I'm still hurting. But I'll be okay,” the Bucks leader shared, per Dionysis Aravantinos of Hoops Hype. “I’m still hurting. Yesterday was the first tough practice I had since Game 6 of the NBA Finals. I’m hurting a lot, but I’ll be okay.”

While it's certainly a bit concerning that Giannis Antetokounmpo hasn't fully healed over two months since the Finals, it doesn't look like the Bucks and its fans have anything to worry about. After all, as the Greek Freak said himself, he has been very diligent in taking care of his body and has been avoiding stuff that will put his condition in danger.

It remains to be seen how Giannis will progress in his recovery from the said injury as the new campaign nears, but there's no doubt he'll be motivated to defend their title.
