Milwaukee Bucks star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss his team's crucial Game 5 matchup with the Miami Heat on Tuesday evening, per The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Antetokounmpo, 25, hurt his right ankle earlier in the series, further spraining it in Game 4, when he needed to leave the tilt, eventually won by his side to give Milwaukee one game in the 3-1 split.

Without Antetokounmpo, the defending NBA MVP and 2019-20 Defensive Player of the Year, the Bucks are on their last legs and could face elimination against All-Stars Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and the Heat on Tuesday.

The Greek national led the Bucks to the franchise's second consecutive season with the league's best regular-season record. However, with a four-month layoff between the NBA's suspension in March and season resumption in the Orlando bubble, Milwaukee has looked far from their superior regular-season performance. Antetokounmpo's ankle injury has only hurt the Bucks' chances to contend for a championship.

Butler and the Heat rose to the occasion in the second round of the playoffs; after sweeping the Indian Pacers in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs, they went up 3-0 over the No. 1 seed Bucks. Miami then dropped Game 4 even after Antetokounmpo exited the matchup early with that nagging ankle injury.

Once again it will be up to All-Star swingman Khris Middleton, point guard Eric Bledsoe, and all together a solid Bucks team to win without Antetokounmpo and survive another day in the bubble and in the playoffs.
