Foward Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss the Milwaukee Bucks’ visit to the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night due to a right knee injury.

It’ll be the first missed game of the season for Antetokounmpo, who is currently second in the NBA in scoring with 29.7 points per game. He’s also the team’s leader in rebounds (10.3) and blocked shots (1.9) per game.

Antetokounmpo’s injury will leave the Bucks even more shorthanded than they already were along the frontcourt. Starting center John Henson has already been ruled out after undergoing an eye procedure, while backup big man Mirza Teletovic is a long-term casualty after undergoing knee surgery. Point guard Matthew Dellavedova is also out due to knee tendinitis.

Thon Maker will almost surely return to the starting lineup, while rookie D.J. Wilson and Joel Bolomboy could also see some extended playing time to match up against the Suns' big men, which include former Buck Greg Monroe.

Antetokounmpo’s absence will put the pressure on Khris Middleton and Eric Bledsoe, who is making his return to Phoenix for the first time since controversially forcing his way out, to provide for a struggling Bucks offense. Milwaukee has failed to top 90 points in each of its last two games, both of which it lost after winning four in a row.
