Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo's reign over Eastern Conference Player of the Month honors continues with yet another first-place finish for the month of January. Antetokounmpo has now claimed top honors in the East in each of the previous three months:

Antetokounmpo once again compiled gaudy numbers, finishing with 29.2 points, 13.4 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game, all while shooting 54.7 percent from the field overall. The Bucks continued to trounce the competition during the month as well, finishing 11-2 and keeping a stranglehold on the No. 1 seed in the East.

Antetokounmpo has made logging a double-double nearly a byproduct of giving him minutes, as the reigning MVP notched 10 double-doubles in January, including one triple-double. Despite his enormous stat lines, he has been able to remain somewhat fresh, as Milwaukee needed him for only 30 minutes on a nightly basis.

On the season, Antetokounmpo is on pace for new career highs in points (30) and rebounds (13.1) per game, while also getting to play his fewest average minutes allotment (30.7) since his rookie campaign.

This marks the eighth time Antetokounmpo has been bestowed Player of the Month honors. He won on four separate occasions last year en route to the league's MVP trophy, a course that he remains on in 2019-20. His excellence through the early part of this year has led to him being named a captain for the All-Star Game.

It will take a significant month of February for someone to dethrone Antetokounmpo, who kicked off the month with a 30-point, 19-rebound, nine-assist outing Sunday, a further claim that the Player of the Month crown is his for the considerable future.
