If Giannis Antetokounmpo doesn't sign the supermax extension with the Milwaukee Bucks this offseason, the franchise is adamant they won't trade the Greek Freak, per Tim Bontemps of ESPN.

Antetokounmpo will become an unrestricted free agent in 2021 if he doesn't sign the supermax.

If Giannis Antetokounmpo passes on signing the supermax, multiple sources are adamant that the Bucks won't trade him. Milwaukee will have to persuade him to stay — and quickly.

The Bucks have had the best record in the NBA the past two seasons. However, they haven't made it to the NBA Finals and got bounced in the second round this season by the Miami Heat in five quick games.

Antetokounmpo won the 2020 Defensive Player of the Year Award and he's expected to win the MVP trophy again. Unfortunately, Antetokounmpo's MVP ceremony is going to be a little awkward since he's not in the playoffs anymore.

However, it was a terrific season for Antetokounmpo, who is on his way to becoming the third player in NBA history to win MVP and DPOY in the same season. Antetokounmpo averaged 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists during the 2019-20 regular season. He also shot 55.3 percent from the field, 30.4 percent from beyond the arc and 63.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Now, there are going to be some pundits who won't agree with the Bucks' logic. If Antetokounmpo doesn't sign the supermax and Milwaukee doesn't trade him, the team could lose Antetokounmpo in 2021 and not get anything in return.

All eyes are going to be on Antetokounmpo this offseason. It's going to be interesting to see what he decides to do.
