Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo announced his long-term agreement with Nike back in November of 2017. Now, after several months of planning and design, he's set to debut his first signature shoe with the company during this season's playoffs.

According to a report from @djfolk on Twitter, Antetokounmpo's signature kicks will be called the “Nike Freak 1,” which will debut with a black and white colorway in June or July. A red and white colorway is said to be coming in August.

During Nike's Q3 earnings call for fiscal year 2019, CEO Mark Parker announced that Giannis Antetokounmpo's anticipated debut signature model, reportedly named the Freak 1, will be releasing in the coming months during the 2019 NBA Playoffs.

“Building on the energy of the NBA Playoffs, Giannis [Antetokounmpo] will cap off his incredible season with the reveal of his first signature shoe,” Parker said.

If anyone deserves their own signature shoe, it's Giannis. “The Greek Freak,” as he's come to be known, has burst onto the NBA scene in a big way, wowing fans with his ferocious dunks and drives to the hoop. He's more than just a great scorer, though. He's also a solid defender who takes rebounding seriously.

In 65 appearances with the Bucks this season (all starts), Antetokounmpo has racked up averages of 27.5 points on 58.0 percent shooting from the field (24.9 percent from beyond the arc), 12.7 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.3 steals in 33 minutes per outing.

The Bucks (53-19 and 1st in the Central Division standings) will be back in action on Friday night, when they'll welcome the Miami Heat to town. Tip-off inside the Fiserv Forum is set for 8:30 p.m. ET.
