The Milwaukee Bucks are waiving shooting guard Jodie Meeks, whose NBA-mandated suspension ends on Saturday night, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Meeks tested positive for banned compounds ipamorelin and growth-hormone-releasing peptide-2 last season while with the Washington Wizards and was suspended for the first 25 games of this season. The Bucks acquired Meeks from the Wizards in October.

Jodie Meeks, 31, appeared in 77 games for the Wizards last season and averaged 6.3 points while shooting 39.9 percent from the field and 34.3 percent from 3-point range.

A former second-round pick, Jodie Meeks has career averages of 9.3 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 531 games with the Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers, Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic and Wizards. He played his college ball at the University of Kentucky.

Teams that need shooting could contact Jodie Meeks and his camp. The guard shoots 37.2 percent from beyond the arc for his career. Meeks once scored 42 points in a game with the Lakers during the 2013-14 season. The most points he scored last year with the Wizards was 23.

Nevertheless, this appears to be the end of a relatively unimportant era in Milwaukee. Given how the team is constructed, the Bucks are likely to be fine without the veteran guard's services.
