Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo can become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2021 if he declines the supermax extension from the Bucks after this season ends. Khris Middleton, who re-signed with the Bucks this past offseason, says he always jokes with the reigning MVP that he can't leave him since he stayed in Milwaukee.

Middleton also admits that he and Giannis don't talk about the future since they are focused on this Bucks season:

“I mean, you’ve got to respect what he’s going to do at the end of the day,” Middleton told Sam Amick of The Athletic. “Of course I’ve talked to him and joke with him all the time that he can’t leave me here after I came back (last summer), but he respected my decision…

“He laughs. But I mean, we never talk about that, honestly. We don’t talk about that at all. We’re always focused on practice or gameplan or a game or watching film or something. For the most part, we respect our decision making, realize it’s not always about basketball, that it’s about family situations and what not. But we also, like I said man, we just really focus on basketball. We’re basketball junkies.”

The Bucks once again have the best record in the Eastern Conference. They are 29-5 entering Monday's matchup against the Chicago Bulls and The Greek Freak is expected back in the lineup.

By all accounts, Giannis Antetokounmpo loves playing for the Bucks and living in Milwaukee. He has said in the past he doesn't like big-market cities such as New York or Los Angeles.

The Bucks have a great shot of winning the East this season and ultimately winning the championship. For that to happen, the Bucks will need Khris Middleton and Eric Bledsoe to play at a high level once the playoffs start and be effective second and third options on offense, respectively, behind Giannis.
