The Milwaukee Bucks had a busy offseason in 2019. They resigned most of their premier free agents, only losing guard Malcolm Brogdon. They brought back Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez, and George Hill in an attempt to make another deep playoff run.

All-Star Middleton expressed some disappointment that the team wasn't able to retain Brogdon's services, but was happy that they at least got Hill and Lopez to return:

“I thought they were going to find a way to keep everybody together. They weren’t and that’s the way things happen sometimes, but bringing George (Hill) back, bringing Brook (Lopez) back, that’s huge. Just to try to keep other pieces of the team together rather than having changeover like a lot of the other teams are doing.”

Middleton clearly believes that the Bucks' strategy of keeping the core intact is the right way to go instead of retooling. Unfortunately, Brogdon was going to be a little too pricey for the Bucks after giving both Middleton and Lopez big money.

Middleton was deserving of his paycheck. Last season, he averaged 18.3 points, six rebounds, and 4.3 assists. He established himself as one of the league's best volume shooters by hitting 38 percent of his triples.

The Bucks did the best they could to keep all of their big players. Now that he got his contract, it's up to Middleton to show he can improve off last season's premature exit against the Toronto Raptors.
