Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports that Milwaukee Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer has been voted as the 2019 Coach of the Year by the National Basketball Coaches Association.

Milwaukee Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer has been elected the National Basketball Coaches Association's 2019 Coach of the Year, the league announced.

The Michael H. Goldberg NBCA Coach of the Year Award, named in honor of Goldberg, the group's late president, polls the 30 NBA head coaches and mandates that no individual can vote for himself.

Budenholzer led the Bucks to 60 victories and the league's best record in his first season with Milwaukee.

Budenholzer shared in a statement that it was an honor to receive this kind of recognition from his peers. He, likewise, gave credit to the entire Bucks coaching staff, and his players for giving Milwaukee a season to remember.

There's no doubt that Budenholzer deserves this award. His coaching brilliance has completely revamped the Bucks in just his first year with the team, leading them to a league-best 60-22 record.

His simple philosophy of surrounding Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo with an abundance of shooters has given the Bucks the boost it needed to take that next step as a team. This has obviously worked wonders for Milwaukee, as The Greek Freak is thriving tremendously in Budenholzer's system.

The one-year turnaround is evident from their net rating this season, as they went from 20th last season to the best in the league this season. Moreover, they boast of the best defense in the NBA, after finishing 19th last year.

With their impressive 2018-19 campaign with Budenholzer at the helm, the expectations for Milwaukee to perform in the post-season are through the roof.
