Milwaukee Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer is planning to give combo guard Malcolm Brogdon more minutes in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Brogdon played in Game 5 of the second round against the Boston Celtics, the first game action he saw since March. The 2017 Rookie of the Year suffered a minor plantar fascia tear in his right foot back on March 15.

Brogdon played 16 minutes in Game 5 and finished with 10 points while shooting 4-of-8 from the field. Budenholzer says the Bucks will slowly increase Brogdon's workload.

“He needs more game minutes, more game action,” Budenholzer said after practice Saturday, via Malika Andrews of ESPN. “We plan to continue to increase Malcolm's workload and minutes. To say exactly how it's going to play out — the next step will be him playing a little bit more in Game 1.”

Brogdon played in 64 games during the regular season for the Bucks. He averaged 15.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists per contest and shot an efficient 50.5 percent from the field, 42.6 percent from beyond the arc and 92.8 percent from the free-throw line.

The Bucks will face either the Toronto Raptors or Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference Finals. Milwaukee is trying to advance to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1974.
