To say that the Milwaukee Bucks have had a good season during their 2018-19 campaign would completely be an understatement.

Just hours after they agreed to a contract extension for guard Eric Bledsoe, Milwaukee became the first team to punch their ticket to the postseason, following a 131-120 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night.

“We've got a talented young team, we're growing together,” Bledsoe told Beth Harris of The Associated Press. “We compete for something bigger than ourselves. I just wanted to be part of it.”

The nine-year veteran's $70 million, four-year extension is likely enough to keep him in Milwaukee for the prime of his career.

The Bucks have won 10-straight clashes on the road, and currently hold the best record in basketball at 48-14 – not to mention, they are on the brink of reaching their second-best record in franchise history. The team hasn't won over 50 games since the 2000-01 season. They will look to extend their eight-game winning streak when they square up against the Jazz in Utah Saturday.

Head coach Mike Budenholzer was also named the Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for the second-straight time yesterday, and rightfully so.

The team also acquired 18-year old veteran Pau Gasol on Friday to give their bench even more of a cushion heading into the postseason. Gasol played a vital role on two different championship teams with the Los Angeles Lakers, and has appeared in the playoffs 12 times – with career postseason averages of 15.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.7 blocks.

The Milwaukee Bucks are still gunning to retain the No.1 seed in the Eastern Conference, but the Toronto Raptors sit only two games behind them in the current standings.
