The Milwaukee Bucks are denying a report that they signed Thanasis Antetokounmpo, the older brother of reigning league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Greek publication Gazzetta reported on Thursday that the Bucks and the elder Antetokounmpo were in advanced talks on an agreement.

Matt Velazquez of the Journal Sentinel, however, confirmed on Friday that there's “nothing in place”  yet between Thanasis and Milwaukee.

Thanasis Antetokounmpo, 26, was drafted by the New York Knicks with the 51st pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-7 forward only appeared in two games and six total minutes for the Knicks during the 2014-15 NBA season before phasing out of the league. He frequently competed for New York's G League affiliate team, the Westchester Knicks. He was last associated with the NBA or G League in 2016.

Since then, Thanasis has played professionally in Spain and Greece.

The youngest Antetokounmpo brother, Kostas, was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the final pick in the 2018 draft. Philly sent Kostas to the Dallas Mavericks where he'd sign a two-way contract and spend most of his time with the Texas Legends in the G League.

It's been a busy offseason for Milwaukee, who lost to the Toronto Raptors in six games in the Eastern Conference Finals. Looking to reload and give MVP Giannis a strong team to contend with, the Bucks re-signed Brook Lopez and Khris Middleton.

The Bucks, however, lost Malcolm Brogdon in a sign-and-trade with the Indiana Pacers. Milwaukee also signed Brook's brother Robin Lopez and veteran swingman Wesley Matthews, both of whom played together on the Portland Trail Blazers.
