The Milwaukee Bucks have now created a $2.5 million gap under the tax bill after waiving Spencer Hawes following the stretch provision that took place on Thursday night. This $2.5 million is expected to go toward re-signing veteran sharpshooter Jason Terry, (according to Gary Woelfel of the Racine Journal Times) who has played an integral part in mentoring young players like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jabari Parker, Malcolm Brogdon, and Thon Maker.

The 18-year veteran has been a coaching presence in the last four years of his career, increasing his longevity in the league by dropping words of wisdom and leading by example with a commendable lead-by-example attitude.

Terry played only 18.4 minutes per game last season as a rotation player, making a commendable 42.7 percent of his shots from deep. While the value of 4.1 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game isn't much compared to stat-stuffers like Antetokounmpo, his value resides in his innate ability to guide and lead a team that is only growing into its full potential.

The Jet can earn $2.3 million for another year with the Bucks, a major raise from the $1.5 million he earned last season under the past revision of the NBA's collective bargaining agreement.
