On Monday, the Milwaukee Bucks officially announced on their team website that former No. 2 overall pick Jabari Parker will finally make his season debut on Friday when the Bucks visit the New York Knicks at legendary Madison Square Garden.

“Jabari has worked extremely hard with our medical, performance and coaching staffs to get to this point,” Bucks General Manager Jon Horst said on Monday in a statement. “He’s passed all the tests and been cleared to return by our team physician Dr. William Raasch of the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network. Just as important, Jabari feels ready to play and we’re excited for his return to game action on Friday.”

Parker has not played in an NBA game for almost one whole year since he tore his left ACL back on Feb. 8 against the Miami Heat, which was his second ACL tear since he was selected in the 2014 NBA Draft.

Bucks director of performance Troy Flanagan spoke with Matt Velazquez of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel about Parker's rehabilitation.

“He progressed really quickly in the early phases of his rehab, which is really nice,” Bucks director of performance Troy Flanagan told the Journal Sentinel. “In the first ACL rehab, he had a fair bit of patellar tendinitis which slowed the whole thing down a little bit even though he did come back reasonably early. We saw a great progression early in this rehab that allowed us to really capitalize on his fitness.”

In 51 games played last season before the injury devastating injury, Parker averaged an impressive 20.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.0 steals per game in roughly 33.9 minutes of action per contest.
