The Milwaukee Bucks got their man – a big man.

According to the team’s official website, the Bucks have signed center Brook Lopez, giving Milwaukee a legitimate back-to-the-basket scoring threat at the post that it did not have in the last season.

Bucks general manager Jon Horst sounded ecstatic of the transaction when he talked about his initial thoughts of the team’s addition of the 10-year veteran.

“Brook is a proven NBA center who bolsters our front line with his size and skill set,” said Bucks General Manager Jon Horst. “He has demonstrated the ability to stretch the floor on offense, as well as anchor the defensive end of the court. He’s a great teammate and we know he will be a positive addition to our roster both on and off the court.”

In Milwaukee, Lopez can rebuild his value after a down year with the Los Angeles Lakers. Lopez, who signed a one-year deal with the Lakers in 2017, averaged just 13.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in 74 games for Los Angeles.

Although he entered the NBA in 2008 known for his ways down low, Lopez has adjusted to the changes in the league over the past few seasons, which is very evident with the way he has developed a 3-point shot. Lopez took only seven 3-point attempts over his first six seasons in the NBA, but has buried 246 treys alone in the last two campaigns.

Milwaukee was last in the NBA in the 2017-18 season with just 10.8 points per game from its centers, so expect that area to be significantly addressed once Lopez starts to hit the floor for the Bucks.
