Forward Pat Connaughton is headed to the Milwaukee Bucks after signing a two-year deal with the Eastern Conference team according to Matt Velasquez of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The Milwaukee Bucks came to an agreement to sign free-agent forward Pat Connaughton on Friday, a source confirmed to the Journal Sentinel. The contract is a two-year deal, with only the first year guaranteed.

Connaughton's first-year salary is worth slightly more than the minimum, coming in at approximately $1.6 million, which amounts to the remaining portion of the mid-level exception available to the Bucks following their signing of Ersan Ilyasova.

Connaughton was selected by the Brooklyn Nets as the 41st overall pick of the 2015 NBADraft before the Nets traded him to Portland along with Mason Plumlee for Steve Blake and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

A 6-foot-5 shooting guard, Connaughton should boost Milwaukee’s outside shooting. Last season, the Bucks were among the worst 3-point producers in the league, making only 8.8 3-pointers per game, fourth fewest in the NBA. In his first three seasons in the league, all with the Blazers, Connaughton struggled to find decent playing time CJ McCollum, as he averaged 3.7 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in only 12.6 minutes per game. He is a career 36.4 percent shooter from deep.

Pat Connaughton is the latest 3-point shooter the Bucks have added to their fold this offseason, They have previously signed Ersan Ilyasova and Brook Lopez, and drafted former Villanova hotshot Donte DiVincenzo.
