Whenever players receive news that their teams decline to pick up their options on their respective contract, they usually see it as depressing news or even at times, a shock. However, for Milwaukee Bucks shooting guard Rashad Vaughn, it didn't surprise him at all.

It can be recalled that the 21-year-old UNLV product found out about his team's decision earlier this week, as they opted to allow him to become an unrestricted free agent next summer. Vaughn talked about the development on his career, via Gery Woelfel of Woelfel Press Box, and said that he was already expecting it. He added that he remains focused on getting better, which he believes he has done since entering the NBA back in  2015.

“Was I surprised? No, not really,’’ Vaughn said. “They just want to go in a different direction. It’s out of my control. There’s nothing I can do.’’

“I’ve improved since my rookie year, for sure. I think that’s been my main focus, trying to get better every year and I think I did that.’’

Rashad Vaughn has only played a limited role with the Bucks the past two seasons, and is currently averaging the fewest minutes of his career so far this year. Although he has shown glimpses of his true potential in some games, his lack of playing time from the Bucks has affected his ability to prove that he belongs to play at the highest level.
