The city of Milwaukee is preparing for a backlash from the community after the video of Milwaukee Bucks rookie Sterling Brown being arrested is released.

In January, Brown was tased during his arrest for resisting or obstructing an officer, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal.

According to two sources who have seen the video, Brown didn't appear to be resisting or combative towards the officers during the arrest.

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said he will be releasing the video soon, but is concerned about some of the backlash that might come with it.

“I'm going to let the release of that speak for itself, but yes, I definitely have concerns after watching that video,” Barrett said at a news conference.

The Milwaukee Police are also very concerned about the backlash that could happen in the city, and Assistant Police Chief Michael Brunson Sr. and said during a speech that the police are going to need the communities support when it comes out.

“There's going to be a video that's going to come out soon, in the next couple of weeks, involving the department, and I'm going to honest with you, we're going to need your support during the challenges,” he said, according to video posted on WITI-TV.

The incident started after cops saw Brown's car parked across two handicap spaces. He was cited for the parking violation, but the charges of resisting an officer were ultimately dropped.

According to WISN, the Bucks rookie plans on filing a civil suit against the city for the way he was treated during his interaction with the police.
