The Milwaukee Bucks have reached agreements with both Wesley Matthews and Jevon Carter on free agent deals, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Matthews has reportedly come to terms with the Bucks on a mere one-year deal, while Carter will stay put in Milwaukee on a notable two-year agreement.

HoopsHype's Michael Scotto further adds that Carter is set to earn $4.6 million over the coming pair of seasons.

Matthews and Carter each were formidable contributors for the Bucks this past year.

After electing to not sign with a team ahead of the season, Matthews ended up putting pen to paper on a free agent contract with the Bucks in December. He emerged as a key rotational player for head coach Mike Budenholzer as the campaign progressed, which included starting in each of the team’s playoff games.

On the other hand, Carter signed with the Bucks in February after being waived by the Brooklyn Nets. The versatile point guard featured in all but one of the Bucks’ playoff contests this year, and he also ended up exerting a keen impact on the defensive side of the ball.

From Bucks general manager Jon Horst’s standpoint, he much aspired to see Matthews and Carter stay put in Milwaukee. For one, he noted earlier this month that he hoped to “figure something out when the time’s right” in regard to Matthews’ future with the team. For the veteran guard, he expressed interest in remaining with the perennial Eastern Conference contenders, noting in his exit interview that he desired to “be back.”

Much focus for the Bucks is now centered on just what other moves Horst has in store for the remainder of this year’s NBA free agency period.
