Milwaukee Bucks shooting guard Khris Middleton has had his share of confrontations with the coaching staff amid a recent five-game shooting slump, according to Gery Woelfel of The Racine Journal-Times.

The lauded marksman has made only 19 of his 68 field goals in the last five games (28 percent) and five of his 24 3-pointers (21 percent) in his last four appearances. This took place right at the wake of his alarming benching in the fourth quarter against the New York Knicks on Saturday, Dec. 3.

Head coach Mike Budenholzer reportedly decided to bench his 3-point specialist after he cakewalked his way through the fourth quarter, with the Bucks already holding a handy lead over the bottom-dwelling Knicks. By benching Middleton, he sent a loud message throughout the roster that no lack of discipline would be tolerated, starter or not — but the trusty sniper didn't take kindly to being the guinea pig for such an experiment.

Ever since, Middleton has had some tiffs with some of the Bucks' coaches, which Woelfel says weren't pretty. While confrontations between coaches and players aren't uncommon, this one sends alarming vibes, considering how Budenholzer has quickly turned the Bucks into East title contenders — and even more so because it was Middleton accompanying Giannis Antetokounmpo during Bud's second interview for the job this summer.

The three went out to breakfast to discuss his vision, and the two players gave their nod of approval for his hiring before the front office put pen to paper.

Middleton has known to bounce back effectively from shooting skids, but hopefully he's just as good mending fences with those he has confronted during this trying stretch of the season.
