Tim Bontemps of ESPN recently went out to interview several league executives and asked them about their expectations when it comes to some of the most pressing matters in the NBA today. One of the biggest issues discussed was the impending free agency of Milwaukee Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo, whose current deal expires by the end of the 2020-21 season.

The consensus is that the reigning Most Valuable Player winner will sign an extension with the Bucks thanks to their level of dominance.

Giannis will be eligible to sign a supermax by the end of this current season, and the belief is that he will sign the biggest contract in league history if he opts to put pen to paper on an extension with Milwaukee. There's no doubt that the franchise will offer him as much money as they possibly can, so at the end of the day, the ball will be in Antetokounmpo's court.

Bontemps provided a bit of a caveat, though, saying that the Bucks' performance this term will have an impact on Giannis' decision. The Bucks fell to the Toronto Raptors in the Eastern Conference Finals last season, but with Kawhi Leonard switching over to the West, Milwaukee should have a clear shot at reaching the NBA Finals.

This is what is expected of Giannis and company, so if they somehow fail to reach this goal, then it might force Antetokounmpo to think twice about his future in Milwaukee. He has consistently talked about how important winning is to him, and if he ultimately thinks he'll have a better chance to win elsewhere, perhaps he gets a wandering eye.
