The Milwaukee Bucks already swung the first big trade of the season by acquiring Eric Bledsoe from the Phoenix Suns. And now, they appear to have their eyes set on his former L.A. Clippers teammate, DeAndre Jordan.

According to Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal Times, the Bucks are “making a concerted push” to acquire the veteran center from the Clippers. However, they could face some stiff competition from other teams for the in-demand big man like the Toronto Raptors, Washington Wizards, and Minnesota Timberwolves, says Woelfel.

The Bucks’ interest in Jordan certainly does make a lot of sense on paper. The Bucks’ main weakness has been at the center position, and it has been even more pronounced with Greg Monroe gone. John Henson and Thon Maker have been consistently getting overpowered inside all season, which is why they've been among the worst rebounding teams in the league.

Acquiring someone like Jordan would immediately help shore up their huge problem on the boards. Jordan is currently second in the NBA with 13.8 rebounds per game this season. His other numbers – 10 points, 65 percent shooting, and 1.1 blocks – are all the lowest they’ve been in five years, but he would still be a sizable upgrade over their current big man options.

The Bucks signaled their intent to switch to win-now mode by trading for Bledsoe. Going for a veteran like Jordan seems right in line with that new strategy to try and contend in the Eastern Conference.
