There are rival teams in the NBA who believe the Milwaukee Bucks will try and acquire Chris Paul from the Oklahoma City Thunder this offseason if OKC makes CP3 available, per Marc Stein of the New York Times.

The Bucks lost in the second round of the 2020 playoffs to the Miami Heat. The Thunder parted ways with head coach Billy Donovan on Tuesday, so OKC could be headed for a rebuild.

The Bucks need an upgrade at point guard, as Eric Bledsoe isn't getting it done. Milwaukee has had the best record in the NBA the past two seasons, but they don't even have a Finals appearance to show for it.

Chris Paul had a terrific season with the Thunder in 2019-20. He averaged 17.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game while shooting 48.9 percent from the field, 36.5 percent from beyond the arc and 90.7 percent from the free-throw line. That's the type of production the Bucks need next to Khris Middleton and superstar swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Paul is owed $41,358,814 in 2020-21 and has a player option worth $44,211,146 for the 2021-22 season. The Bucks are going to offer Antetokounmpo the supermax extension this offseason, but it's unknown if he's going to accept it.

CP3 will turn 36 next May. It's going to be fascinating to see if the Bucks make a move for the future Hall of Famer.
