Despite the fact that it ended in disappointment, Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 2019-2020 season was one to remember. Not only did he win MVP again, but he also bagged Defensive Player of the Year honors. Only five players have won both MVP and DPOY in their careers, and only three of them took home both awards in the same year: Antetokounmpo, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Michael Jordan.

That’s certainly good company for the two-time MVP, and he can’t help but look back on the amazing season that he had:

In the video, Antetokoumnpo’s highlights are spliced between those of Jordan (won MVP and DPOY in 1988) and Olajuwon (won both awards in 1994). The video in particular focuses on the similarities of The Greek Freak and The Dream’s style of play, from their thunderous blocks, rim-rattling dunks, and even the way they operate inside the post to shake off and score against defenders.

In his 1993-1994 season, Olajuwon averaged 27.3 points, 11.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 3.7 blocks on 52.8% shooting from the field in 80 games for the Rockets. At the time, he was the league's first foreign-born player to win MVP, and he later on capped off a dominant season by winning Finals MVP honors while leading the Houston to its first NBA title.

Giannis Antetokounmpo's 2019-2020 season, meanwhile, saw him put up 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and one block per game while shooting 55.3% from the field in 63 games for the Bucks.
