Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks proved why he is the leading candidate for MVP this season. Against the Indiana Pacers Thursday night, the Greek Freak made great plays on both ends of the floor.

In the clip posted by Bleacher Report, Antetokounmpo swiftly spun around Thaddeus Young for the right-handed spike. In the next play, he perfectly timed Myles Turner's potential slam and swatted the ball into the first row.

In the Bucks' 117-98 victory over Indiana, Antetokounmpo finished with 29 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and one block. He was 58.8 percent from the field and 8 of 8 from the free throw line. Fellow All-Star Khris Middleton chipped in 27 points and connected on 4 of 7 shots from 3-point land.

The win snaps the Bucks' two-game losing streak. They now have a 49-16 record, the best in the league. With 17 games remaining, they have a great chance at snagging the first seed in the Eastern Conference and home-court advantage throughout the entire postseason.

Milwaukee had been on the road for a long time, taking a five-game trip through three separate time zones which began on February 25. The extended swing started in Chicago in the Central time zone, moved to the West Coast, and then moved to the Mountain time zone for games against Utah and Phoenix. The Bucks were glad to return home on Thursday, and their level of play proved as much.

Given the virtuosity of Giannis Antetokounmpo and the quality of his team's record, he's the favorite among basketball critics to take home the MVP trophy. After all, 10 of the last 15 league MVPs have come from the team with the best regular-season record. The clip above is good proof that the Greek Freak is the most important player on his squad. He is also turning out to be the next face of the NBA… and he is only 24 years old.

Antetokounmpo is just getting started.
