All eyes were on Tom Brady in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' resounding opening game win over the Dallas Cowboys. But it was Ryan Succop that put on the finishing touches.

The Bucs kicker gave zero doubts with his 36-yard winner to take the lead with seconds remaining on the game clock.

The win clearly had Bruce Arians in a good mood. The Bucs coach made sure to give Succop a free pass to skip the team meeting the next day in order to fly home for the sixth birthday party of his son Cooper.

Via Greg Auman of The Athletic:

“He was great about it: ‘Go to the birthday party, have fun,'” Succop said. “It was kind of neat because tonight, I kind of honestly thought he forgot about it. As soon as we made the kick, I came off the field and he gave me a big hug and said, ‘It’s going to be a heck of a birthday party tomorrow.’ That was pretty cool for me.”

Given that it's going to be a Buccaneers themed party, Ryan Succop is probably going to outshine his own son at the said event after being the late hero for Tampa Bay. Since the game was on a weekday, Cooper unfortunately was already asleep before seeing his father's heroics. But thankfully he'll have some father-son time thanks to Bruce Arians' generous hand.

“He was petitioning my wife all week, and he’s got school at 7:30 tomorrow, so we let him stay up until halftime,” Succop said. “Literally the first text I got after the game, I saw my wife had texted me: ‘I’m so bummed I made him go to bed at halftime. He’s going to be so mad when he wakes up.'”

Hopefully, this energizes Ryan Succop to stay locked in throughout the season. If he doesn't miss any kicks at all,  he probably won't be missing any birthdays for the rest of the year.
