The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have gotten off to a fast start to the 2017 NFL season. Jameis Winston and company are 1-0 after an impressive showing against the Chicago Bears and will look to improve that record in their first tough test against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 3.

A lot of the team's success and promising future ahead has to do with Winston and his leadership both on and off the field. Head coach Dirk Koetter recently sang the praises of his franchise quarterback saying the following about Winston, via ESPN's Jenna Laine.

“Jameis is extremely coachable,” Koetter said. “Jameis wants to be great, so he knows he is going to hear about it. He owns it. That's one of our things that is on our expectation list. … He never takes it personally. Jameis is as coachable of a guy as I've been around.”

These are the kind of attributes an NFL head coach wants out of his franchise quarterback. Winston is expected to take the next step in his progression to become a star in this league while potentially leading the Bucs into the playoffs as a legitimate threat to go the distance in the NFC.

Although Winston is making all the right moves and Koetter has his back, there's no telling where the season goes from here. The Bucs will have a tough challenge to win their division with the Atlanta Falcons looking as sharp as they were last season.

The journey continues for Winston as the Bucs take on the Vikings followed by the New York Giants and the true test against the New England Patriots on Oct. 5 in Tampa Bay.
