The 2019 NFL campaign was certainly a strange one for Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston.

Winston led the league with 5,109 passing yards and threw for 33 touchdowns, but he also tallied 30 interceptions, making him the first player in NFL history to log 30 touchdown passes and 30 picks in the same season.

He also completed just 60.7 percent of his passes and posted a passer rating of 84.3, the latter of which was his lowest mark since his rookie year.

However, Winston was apparently dealing with multiple issues throughout 2019.

For one, he was battling poor eyesight, something he had dealt with since college. Winston finally got that problem corrected this offseason, as he underwent LASIK surgery.

He also had a broken thumb, which did not cause him to miss any time.

Now, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network has revealed that Winston was also fighting through a torn meniscus that he had trimmed, but in spite of the injury, he refused to sit.

That certainly adds a qualifier to what was an up-and-down season (to say the least) for Winston, and it could also have an impact on his impending free agency.

Winston is set to become an unrestricted free agent last month. And with teams knowing he fought through several health issues in 2019, they could be more open to offering him a long-term deal given that his struggles may have been a result of him not being 100 percent.

That being said, the 26-year-old did not exactly light it up from 2015 through 2018. So it remains to be seen if Winston's wacky 2019 campaign was largely due to injuries or if it was mainly due to him just not being very good.
