Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans was initially named as an alternate for this year's Pro Bowl. However, it appears he will be able to take part in the festivities due to the current status of Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones.

Jones has opted to skip the Pro Bowl due to the hip and rib injuries he suffered down the final stretch of the season. Tampa Bay has since announced that Evans will take his place, via the team's official website.

Evans was named to the Pro Bowl on Monday, replacing Atlanta wide receiver Julio Jones, who will be unable to participate in the January 27 all-star game due to injury. Evans was originally designated a first alternate when the Pro Bowl rosters were announced on December 19.

Despite Tampa Bay's disappointing year on offense, Evans still managed to put up some stellar numbers. He registered a franchise record 1,524 yards on 86 receptions. Perhaps even more impressive is that he did it while dealing with multiple quarterbacks under center.

The 018 campaign was a bit of a carr-year for Evans. He has already established himself as one of the most decorated receivers in Bucs history. The former seventh overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft already holds franchise records for career receiving yards and touchdowns. He also joins Randy Moss and A.J. Green as the only wideouts to record at least 1,000 yards in each of their first five seasons. It is safe to assume that Evans will be well-represented at the Pro Bowl in nearby Orlando.
