The Buffalo Bills face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers in a tough Week 1 matchup. Both of these franchises look to make the playoffs again, with all eyes on a Super Bowl run. This one should come down to the wire, as both teams are ultra-competitive. It's time to continue our NFL predictions series with a Bills Week 1 prediction.

After an impressive run in the postseason last year, the Bills hope to take the next step and make a Super Bowl appearance. To do so, this team will need to perform at their best as they face stiff competition all season. They kick off the season against a Steelers team who has a similar goal in mind.

However, Buffalo is the better team on paper. Ben Roethlisberger is getting up there in age and not everyone has drunk from the fountain of youth like Tom Brady. The Bills will look to exploit Big Ben's age in Week 1. Buffalo's offense is one of the best in the league. We should see Cole Beasley pick up where he left off, Josh Allen continue his dominant play from a year ago, and Stefon Diggs take advantage of Pittsburgh's secondary. With that said, here are four bold predictions for the Bills' week 1 matchup against the Steelers.

Bills Week 1 Predictions

4. Bills defense exploits Big Ben's age

The Steelers might be in a little bit of trouble this year. Ben Roethlisberger is getting old and he's lost a ton of mobility. Additionally, the Steelers have a bad offensive line. This is a dream matchup for any defense with a solid pass rush. Look for the Bills to be aggressive, as they'll look to pressure Roethlisberger on Sunday.

3. Cole Beasley continues his consistent play

Cole Beasley has been at the center of controversy for his opinions on the COVID-19 vaccines, but he's one of Josh Allen's favorite pass targets. He's not the best slot receiver in the game by any means, but he's a consistent and reliable target for the Bills quarterback. The Steelers' defense might be too busy focusing on Stefon Diggs, which could open up opportunities for Beasley and the rest of the receiver group.

2. Josh Allen leads the Bills in rushing yards

Devin Singletary and Zack Moss were less than impressive last year, making the run game a key weakness in the Bills offense. The coaching staff is hopeful for improvement, but expectations are not high. Josh Allen runs it with the best of them and should be active in Buffalo's run game. Look for Allen to run the ball on Sunday, whether it's by design or he's evading the Steeler's pass rush.

1. Stefon Diggs torches the Steelers for 150+ yards and 2+ touchdowns

After being a “problem teammate” with the Minnesota Vikings, Stefon Diggs has become a captain on the Bills offense. He's matured quite a bit since joining the organization last offseason, which bodes well for the Bills offense. Allen has a knack for targeting Diggs often and that shouldn't change. Look for Diggs to light up the Steelers' secondary as he'll play a major role all year long.
