The Chicago Bulls made some splashy moves in the offseason by acquiring Lonzo Ball, DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso, among others. The Bulls' new front office of Arturas Karnisovas and Marc Eversley has overhauled this roster over the past year in an attempt to take a big step forward after a failed youth movement over the past four seasons since trading Jimmy Butler.

Chicago should be much better in 2021-22, but the team isn't a title contender yet and there's always room for improvement. Given how aggressive this front office has been, it wouldn't be a surprise if there's another notable trade made during the season.

On the latest episode of Blue Wire's Cash Considerations pod, Ricky O'Donnell suggested Minnesota Timberwolves sharpshooter Malik Beasley as a possible in-season target for the Bulls:

“If Karnisovas is going to continue this super-aggressive mindset, what if they just added a knockdown, dynamite shooter? I got a name for you, this is just me speculating, I haven't heard anything on this. This might even be a bad idea and people might be listening to this and thinking I'm crazy. But if the Timberwolves are bad again, and you've got the Blazers' lottery protected pick, what about someone like Malik Beasley? Who's just a really good shooter, who can knock down shots off a variety of different looks.”

The Bulls have some quality shooters in their starting lineup, but they could use a bit more shooting on the roster overall. Beasley averaged 19.6 points while shooting just under 40% from 3 on 8.7 attempts per game with the Timberwolves last season. He only played in 37 games because of legal issues and injuries, but he's back now.

Minnesota is trying to make its own leap in the standings, so the franchise probably isn't looking to trade Beasley at this time. But if things go poorly for the Timberwolves, perhaps they look to shake things up. The shooting guard has three years and over $46 million left on his contract, with a team option on the final season.

The Bulls would have to match that salary, and it's still not known if they're going to lose a first-round pick because of the Ball tampering investigation. But if there's an opportunity, they could look to strike.
