The coalition of general manager Gar Forman and vice president of basketball operations John Paxson has been held largely responsible for the Chicago Bulls' mediocrity over the past few years, failing to get a competent squad to push to the Eastern Conference Finals and failing to capitalize on having an MVP talent like Derrick Rose at the forefront.

Now Forman is rumored to be on the works to getting a contract extension from the franchise, according to the Bernstein & Goff Show on 670 The Score in Chicago.

This extension comes perhaps at a very sensitive time, after the team made a firm effort to rebuild after a somewhat chaotic 2016-17 season. The Bulls traded their best player, Jimmy Butler for a couple of young players and a higher pick selection, which turned into Lauri Markkanen.

While the future seems exciting to a few, the Bulls are very far away from becoming a real threat in the East — projected to be among the league's bottom dwellers along with the post-Carmelo Anthony New York Knicks.

Fans reacted to the news in shocking fashion.

The Bulls might just be mired under the same circle of mediocrity if running through the same leadership in the brass of the organization, after all… maybe it's a good time to take some advice from the G.O.A.T.
